Le Tour de Parques is designed to showcase the beauty of Colorado Springs park network while wholly benefiting two dynamic children's charities: The Memorial Hospital for Children and Bikes for Kids Colorado Springs, Inc. You can support the important work of two non-profit organizations and simultaneously enjoy a family friendly, fun and healthy day touring Colorado Springs' magnificent natural parks. Le Tour is proud to announce that Chris Carmichael, coach to 7-time Tour de France champion, Lance Armstrong and national best selling author with his newly released book "5 Essentials for a Winning Life" as our event spokesman.
The 2007 Le Tour de Parques will be held on Saturday, June 2. The fundraiser will include 3 rides of varying distances:
- 5 mile family ride on the bike trail
- 20 mile ride through Garden of the Gods for the intermediate rider with varied terrain
- 40 mile ride to Peregrine for the more advanced rider
The morning rides begin and end at America the Beautiful Park and will be followed by an awards ceremony and a free Bike Festival with food, music, kids' activities and bicycle demonstrations. Following the ride donors can enjoy the "Bike Festival" in the park.
